Resin Surfacing explained
What Resin Surfacing Involves and Who It's For
What it is
Resin surfacing binds decorative aggregate with resin to create a smooth, seamless surface. It's used for driveways, paths and patio areas.
Who it's for
It's for homeowners who want a clean, modern finish without the joints of paving or the loose stones of gravel.
When it's needed
Discuss resin surfacing for your proposed garden layout at a free site visit.
Why professional help matters
Resin is only as good as what it's laid on and how it's mixed and spread. Preparation of the base, edging and an even finish are what make it look right and last.
General garden guidance
Considerations for Your Garden Project
A failing drive or path tends to deteriorate further, with cracks, potholes or loose stone spreading across the surface.
Risks and escalating costs
- An uneven or cracked finish over a poor base
- Edges breaking away without proper restraint
- Loose gravel tracking into the house
- Patchy colour from inconsistent mixing
Common mistakes homeowners make
- Laying resin over an unsuitable existing surface
- Skipping edging details
- Choosing aggregate colour without seeing it against the house
- Treating resin as a quick cover-up rather than a new surface
